EMDR Therapy: a beautiful way to move past negative core beliefs, traumatic memories, or unpleasant (and exhausting) mental health symptoms.
How can EMDR help?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy approach that helps the brain process and heal from distressing experiences. While it’s well known for treating PTSD, EMDR is also highly effective for negative core beliefs (like “I’m not good enough” or “I’m not safe”), ongoing anxiety or other symptoms, and specific memories that still feel “stuck.”
When something overwhelming happens, the brain doesn’t always fully process it, which can leave you reacting now as if the distress from then is still happening.
In our virtual EMDR sessions, you’ll use guided bilateral stimulation (like self-tapping) to help your brain reprocess these experiences so they feel less intense, more resolved, and no longer define how you see yourself. As a result, many of my clients notice not only a reduction in symptoms, but also a shift toward more compassionate beliefs about themselves.
